The Kenya Aviation Workers’ Union says the industrial action is linked to unresolved labour grievances, including a stalled collective bargaining agreement with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and concerns over cooperation with the Kenya Airports Authority.
Some passengers have reportedly been stranded for more than 12 hours.

Negotiations between the workers and government officials are expected to continue as authorities attempt to resolve the dispute and restore normal airport operations.
