Nigeria has been ranked as the 14th most popular destination in Africa for significant meetings in 2023 by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).

This ranking is part of ICCA’s 2023 Business Analytics Country and City Rankings Report, published on May 13, 2024.

The report analyzed over 10,000 meetings held globally in 2023, submitted by ICCA members.

In the Africa Geographical Ranking, Nigeria placed 14th, with South Africa, Rwanda, Kenya, and Egypt leading the list.

The ICCA highlighted that while geographical divisions aid in administration, they may not reflect the regions’ collective interests and potential accurately.

To promote collaboration and enhance international visibility, the ICCA introduced a new ranking system separating geographical regions from ICCA Chapter Regions. In this ‘Africa Chapter Ranking,’ South Africa, Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda were identified as the top five meeting destinations in Africa. Other notable mentions include Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Niger.

The ICCA’s Africa Chapter Ranking aims to streamline efforts and present a cohesive approach in global bidding and hosting processes.
