The urgency of the situation was highlighted by an incident on July 2nd, 2024, when the ceiling in Court 18 at the Ogba courthouse collapsed during a heavy rainfall.

Water poured directly into the courtroom, endangering everyone present. with the incident triggering the need for immediate intervention.

However, this incident is far from isolated. The Ogba courthouse has gained notoriety for such occurrences, with numerous reports of similar structural failures.

Residents are now imploring the Lagos State Judiciary to prioritise the well-being of all who rely on the court system by addressing these safety hazards without delay.

The commune appealed that the safety of litigants, staff, and magistrates must be the top priority, and the residents have said they will not rest until substantial improvements are made.
