Popular Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Mandojo tragically lost his life on Sunday, August 11, 2024, after being brutally beaten to death. The singer was mistakenly identified as a thief, leading to the fatal assault just days before his birthday.
Musician Soggy Doggy, a close friend of Mandojo, confirmed the news on social media, expressing his deep sorrow: “My heart is in great pain, I will miss you very much, my brother and friend. Rest in peace, Mandojo. Surely, human life is very short on this earth. Sorry brothers, relatives, and friends, and I’m very sorry my brother @domokayatz. God’s work has no mistakes.”
Another colleague, Domo Kaya, also paid tribute, writing: “Daaaah MY SON, I can’t believe the 22nd of this month was supposed to be your birthday. Aisee, why! This is so sad. Rest in peace. May God give you eternal light, friend, brother.”
Mandojo was known for his popular songs like “Nikupe” and “Dingi,” which made him a beloved figure in the Tanzanian music scene. His death has left the music community and fans in deep mourning.
