Germany claimed a 3-1 victory over Nigeria’s Falconets, netting twice in the final 30 minutes, as Nigeria missed crucial scoring opportunities, particularly in the first half.

In their second group match of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Bogotá, the Falconets fell behind early to a 17th-minute header from Germany’s Alara Sehitler. Chiamaka Okwuchukwu equalized for Nigeria in the second half with a close-range effort, but Sehitler restored Germany’s lead in the 62nd minute, and Sarah Ernst added a third goal in stoppage time.

With this result, Germany secured the top spot in Group D and advanced to the next round, while Nigeria now faces a must-win situation against Venezuela in their final group match on Saturday.

Missed chances and defensive lapses, particularly on Nigeria’s left flank, proved costly, as Coach Chris Danjuma’s side struggled to contain Germany’s aerial threat and capitalize on their attacking opportunities.
