The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the governorship election in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, the home LGA of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, secured 30,780 votes. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followed with 24,938 votes, while the Labour Party’s candidate, Olumide Akpata, garnered 5,389 votes.

The total number of registered voters in Oredo was 356,242, with 64,802 accredited voters. The total votes cast stood at 64,042.

The results were announced at the State Collation Centre in Benin.
