Nigeria and Atletico Madrid winger, Rasheedat Ajibade has been named the Spanish Liga F Player of the Month for September.
The 24-year-old Super Falcons player was in scintillating form, scoring five goals and providing two assists across four league matches for Atletico.
Ajibade’s remarkable display of skill and consistency left opponents in awe, further establishing her as one of the league’s top players. She beat a strong field of contenders, including Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor, Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, Levante Badalona’s María Llompart, and Athletic Club Femenino’s Nerea Nevado, to claim the prestigious award.

Currently, Ajibade is the second-highest scorer in the Spanish Liga F, trailing only Pajor in the golden boot race. This recognition adds to her earlier achievement in March 2024, when she was named Atlético’s Player of the Month.
The former FC Robo player’s consistency has been key to her club’s success, with Atletico Madrid sitting third in the league behind Barcelona and Real Madrid. In the 2023/2024 season, she scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 30 matches, earning her the title of Atlético Madrid’s Player of the Season.
Ajibade’s latest accolade comes after she captained Nigeria to secure a spot in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years.
Since joining Atletico Madrid in 2021, her rise in Spanish football has been meteoric, and she continues to be a pivotal figure for the club. This award highlights her continual growth and cements her reputation as one of Nigeria’s brightest stars on the global stage
