Head Coach, Aliyu Zubair has named dynamic midfielder, Nasiru Salihu and forward, Charles Agada among the 20-man squad selected to represent Nigeria at the WAFU B U20 Championship, set to begin in Lome, Togo, on Thursday.
This tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations. The 20 players, accompanied by 12 officials, arrived in Lome on Tuesday after a week-long final training camp at the Remo Stars Training Complex in Ikenne, Ogun State. Hon. Kunle Soname, the owner of the facility and president of Nigeria Premier Football League’s Remo Stars, has pledged N5 million to the Flying Eagles if they retain their title in Togo, and gave the team N1 million before their departure.

The Flying Eagles, who are defending champions after winning the last edition in Niamey, Niger Republic, will face Burkina Faso in their first match on Friday. They are placed in Group B with Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire, while Group A features Togo, Ghana, Niger Republic, and Benin Republic. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
