Nigeria Super Falcons interim head coach, Justine Madugu has announced a 25-player squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Algeria.
Bay FC striker, Asisat Oshoala and Houston Dash defender , Michelle Alozie are notably absent from the squad, having missed out on the call-up. However, Spain-based forward, Gift Monday and captain, Rasheedat Ajibade headline the team, which also features a blend of home-based players and rising young talents.

The matches, set to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Saturday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 29 respectively mark the first time the Super Falcons will play a friendly on home soil since the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament in 2021. Prior to that, their last home appearance was in 2014 against Cameroon in Abuja.
Madugu’s selection highlights a strong mix of local talent, including Comfort Folorunsho of Edo Queens and standout players from the Falconets squad that competed at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
The squad’s balance is reinforced by the presence of homegrown players alongside European-based stars such as Ajibade and Chiamaka Nnadozie of Paris FC.

Algeria’s national team is scheduled to arrive in Lagos on Wednesday for the two CAF-sanctioned fixtures, with FIFA match officials from Benin Republic set to oversee both games.
This double-header offers an opportunity for the home-based Super Falcons to showcase their talent on the international stage, with Ajibade and Monday expected to lead the charge in the absence of veterans like Oshoala and Alozie.
