School Principal Tamrat Onaolapo, who had previously received a formal reprimand for allowing corporal punishment in violation of state regulations, has also been suspended. Governor Dapo Abiodun directed the school’s closure and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to establish accountability.

A delegation from the state government, including senior officials from the Ministry of Education and representatives from ANCOPPS, Trade Union Congress, and ASSUS, visited Arijo’s family to extend condolences and pledge full support throughout the investigation.

During the visit, representatives expressed their sympathies and presented a condolence letter along with a cash gift of N500,000 to support the family in their time of grief. Governor Abiodun has assured that anyone found responsible following the investigation will face appropriate legal consequences.
