Nigeria, after an initial setback with a loss to Burkina Faso, reached the final with impressive wins over Ivory Coast (2-1) and Niger Republic (3-1) in their group and semifinal matches. Both Nigeria and Ghana have already booked their spots in next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, adding intensity to this faceoff.

Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu will be looking for his team to retain the title they won two years ago in Niamey, Niger. Nigeria’s path to the final showcased their resilience and teamwork as they overcame a challenging group and semifinals.

Ghana’s Black Satellites have also shown strong form, advancing from Group A with draws against Togo (1-1) and Benin (2-2) before defeating Niger 2-0 in the semifinals and overcoming Ivory Coast 2-1.

This final is set to be an exciting contest, with both teams displaying their attacking skills and resilience throughout the tournament. The WAFU B U-20 Championship is a qualification event for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which also serves as a pathway to the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, with the top four teams automatically qualifying.

Burkina Faso’s Bado Benoit will officiate the final, assisted by a panel of experienced officials from Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, and Niger.
