The Lagos State Government has announced a 15-month traffic diversion at Loop 1 on the Apapa-bound lane and Loop 4 on the Badagry-bound lane at Mile 2 due to the construction of the Transport Interchange Terminal.
This project, aimed at integrating rail, bus, water, and non-motorised transportation, is set to start on Monday, November 11th 2024 and continue until February 16th 2026.

In a statement on Sunday, Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi detailed the alternative routes:
- Motorists traveling from Apapa to Oshodi will have direct through traffic, as will those traveling in the opposite direction.
- For Apapa-bound traffic from Badagry, drivers should follow the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, turn onto Akinwande Road to connect with Coker, and proceed via the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
- Motorists heading toward Apapa will be redirected onto Durban Road, linking Amuwo Odofin Estate before reconnecting to the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

The government assured that diversion routes will be clearly marked, and officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be stationed to guide traffic. Osiyemi encouraged motorists to cooperate with these measures to help ease the anticipated traffic congestion.
