According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu will use the platform to advocate for reforms that include securing a permanent seat for Nigeria on the United Nations Security Council, a long-standing goal of Nigeria’s foreign policy.

“Nigeria has consistently showcased its credentials as a strong contender for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and remains a key proponent of global governance reforms,” Onanuga emphasized.

On the sidelines of the summit, Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other world leaders to discuss partnerships aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms, particularly in agriculture, energy, and infrastructure development.

The President will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Tourism, Culture and Creativity; Aliyu Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security; and Mohammed Mohammed, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
