President Bola Tinubu has restructured his State House media and communications team, appointing Sunday Dare and Daniel Bwala as co-spokespersons alongside Bayo Onanuga. The shake-up, announced late Monday by Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), aims to improve communication efficiency within the presidency.

The statement clarified that the presidency will no longer have a sole spokesperson. Instead, the trio will collectively handle media responsibilities, ensuring consistent messaging of government policies and decisions.

Sunday Dare, formerly Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, now holds the title of Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications. Meanwhile, Daniel Bwala, initially appointed as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, has been re-designated as Special Adviser, Policy Communication.

“This restructuring underscores the president’s commitment to enhancing efficiency in the communication of his administration’s policies, decisions, and engagements,” the statement read.

The shake-up is part of a broader effort by President Tinubu to optimize governance. In October, he dismissed five ministers, appointed seven new ones, and reassigned ten others to different portfolios. The presidency described these changes as “far-reaching actions” to boost the administration’s capacity to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.

The newly appointed ministers, pending Senate confirmation, include Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Dingyadi, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Jumoke Oduwole, Idi Maiha, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and Suwaiba Ahmad.

These moves reflect Tinubu’s commitment to reinvigorating his administration for optimal efficiency.
