Several traders traveling along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road were reportedly abducted by suspected terrorists on Monday evening in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State. During the incident, armed bandits attacked two commercial vehicles in Dan’arau village around 7:55 PM, firing sporadically in an attempt to kidnap the occupants.

A team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Jibia swiftly responded to the attack, engaging the gunmen in a fierce gunfight. The police successfully foiled the kidnapping attempt, rescuing fourteen victims. However, two of the rescued individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries while receiving care.
