At least one person was seriously injured following the incident which occurred at about 6pm on Friday.

Margaret Adeseye, Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday.

According to her, the Agege Fire and Rescue crew of the Agency brought the situation under control shortly after the incident was reported.

She said the crew doused the “fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemicals stored in an open fenced-gated land”.

“While investigation into the ownership and type of chemical is ongoing, it was discovered that heat radiation is attributed to the explosion of the chemical which was kept unprotected from sunlight.

” The rescued lady is however responding to treatment from sustained first degree burns”, the statement added.
