The mother and son were murdered in Umgababa in the early hours of Friday morning.

It’s understood the suspect Mlondi Cele sent messages to his family before taking his own life.

The incident comes days after late teacher Sibusiso Lawrence took his own life after killing his girlfriend Nontobeko Cele and sharing a viral confession video on social media.

This latest deadly incident has shocked the community of Umgababa on the South Coast.

So is the Cele family where the incident took place.

The deceased suspect’s uncle, Philani Cele, was the first to arrive at the scene.

He said his nephew sent him messages about what he would do but refused to share details.

“Yeah he just told me a few things about his life not going his way, so now there are things I can’t mention to you as the case is already subject to police. I can’t elaborate more.”

Police are investigating the motive of the murders.
