Three police officers tragically lost their lives in a gas explosion at Egypt’s Police Academy in Cairo on Sunday night, according to a statement from the country’s Interior Ministry shared on social media.
The incident occurred during maintenance work at the facility.
Two security sources confirmed that no foul play is suspected in the explosion.
They also reported that two additional police personnel sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care.
