American multinational technology company, International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation, has announced plans to transfer its regional operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and other key African markets to MIBB, a subsidiary of Midis Group, effective April 1, 2025.
Under the new operating model, MIBB will take over IBM’s operations, customer support, and local relationships in 36 African countries, marketing and selling IBM’s products and services.
IBM’s exit from the African markets marks a significant shift in the region’s tech industry, where the company has played a major role for decades, providing infrastructure for various sectors.
The move follows recent exits of other multinational companies, including Holcim and Pick n Pay, from the Nigerian market.
