In a coordinated counterterrorism operation, troops of the 192 Battalion (Motorized), working alongside the Hybrid Force and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully neutralized two terrorists in an ambush along the Gwoza-Bita road in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State.
The operation, carried out under Operation Desert Sanity IV/Diligence Search as part of Operation Hadin Kai, took place at approximately 11:50 p.m. on February 18, 2025. According to military sources, troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, killing two while several others managed to escape.
Following the confrontation, security forces conducted a sweep along the terrorists’ withdrawal route, recovering a cache of items.
The military confirmed that no casualties were recorded on the side of the security forces. Security operations remain ongoing in the region as troops continue to track the fleeing insurgents and dismantle terrorist hideouts.
