Tragedy struck in Madagascar on Friday when two South Korean missionaries were fatally attacked by robbers armed with bladed weapons near a local church.

The victims, who were in-laws, had been actively engaged in volunteer work in the local community.

According to diplomatic sources, the two South Korean nationals were rushed to a hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

The robbers, who remain at large, have not had their motives determined.

The South Korean government has urged local law enforcement to conduct a swift investigation into the attack.

A South Korean consul has visited the crime scene and hospital to provide necessary assistance. The victims’ family members are en route to Madagascar.
