Nasir el-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, has made a shocking accusation against Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser (NSA).
El-Rufai claims that Ribadu is attempting to destroy his reputation due to Ribadu’s alleged presidential ambitions in 2031.
In an interview on Monday, el-Rufai alleged that Ribadu is collaborating with Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to tarnish his image. El-Rufai stated, “This project of destroying Nasir el-Rufai is Nuhu Ribadu’s conception. He is the architect and builder of that project.”
El-Rufai believes that Ribadu sees him as a potential threat to his presidential aspirations and is therefore trying to eliminate him from the political scene.
This accusation comes as the office of the national security adviser (ONSA) has been allocated an additional N29 billion in the supplementary budget, despite already receiving N73 billion in the 2023 budget.
