Idrissu Abubakar, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kwara State, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Oke Ose, Oke-Oyi, Kwara State.
The incident occurred around 10:00 pm on Saturday.
The group’s National Secretary-General, Bello Aliyu Gotomo, confirmed the murder, noting that it comes two months after Abubakar’s counterpart in Katsina State was killed in similar circumstances.
Gotomo expressed concern over the targeted killings of Miyetti Allah leaders, stating that seven leaders have been lost to gunmen in the past two years.
The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the murder and commenced a full investigation, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
