Saudi Arabia has officially announced that the crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal 1446 has been sighted, signifying the end of Ramadan.

As a result, Eid Al-Fitr 1446/2025 will be celebrated in the Kingdom on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

With this announcement, attention now turns to Nigeria, where the Ameerul Mumineen and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, is expected to confirm the official date for the country’s Eid celebrations.

Muslims across Nigeria are eagerly awaiting the Sultan’s declaration, which will determine whether the nation joins Saudi Arabia in marking Eid on Sunday or if the celebration will be observed on a different day.
