Fifa has lifted its suspension of Congo-Brazzaville from international football after the country fulfilled key conditions relating to third-party interference in the management of its football affairs.

The world football governing body imposed the ban in February, citing a “particularly serious situation” involving undue external influence on the Congolese Football Federation (Fecofoot), which it said violated Fifa statutes.

As a result, Congo’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Zambia, originally scheduled for March, were postponed.

FIFA stated that the suspension was lifted after the Fecofoot executive committee regained full control of the association’s headquarters and all related facilities.

It remains unclear whether the postponed qualifiers will be rescheduled, but the final four games of Congo’s group stage campaign are set for September and October, with the African play-offs expected in November.
