The Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa districts were the worst hit, with the community’s District Head, Muhammad Shaba Aliyu, describing the devastation as the worst in 60 years.

The government has been urged to provide support to the affected communities.

This disaster comes as the country is entering the rainy season, following similar devastating floods in 2022 and 2024 that caused widespread displacement, destruction, and loss of life.
