President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as he marks his 60th birthday, commending his dedication to the transformation of Nigeria’s commercial capital.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Sanwo-Olu as a “committed public servant” who has remained steadfast in delivering on the vision of a modern, efficient Lagos.

“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including the completion of the Blue and Red Rail lines, as well as the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line that will serve the vital Lekki corridor,” Tinubu stated.
The President urged the governor to continue on this path of progress by prioritising impactful infrastructure projects. He specifically mentioned the long-awaited Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road as key developments that would benefit Lagosians.

In his message, Tinubu also wished Governor Sanwo-Olu continued good health and many more years of productive service to both Lagos State and Nigeria.
The statement also acknowledged the governor’s long-standing association with Tinubu, under whose administration he began his political career. Sanwo-Olu has held various significant roles in Lagos State, including serving as Commissioner in multiple ministries and as Managing Director of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSDPC).
