Dr. Olunloyo, who passed away a few weeks ago, was the governor of the old Oyo State from October to December 1983. He holds the distinction of being the first indigene of Ibadan to occupy the state’s highest office. He also once served as rector of the Polytechnic.

Governor Makinde said the renaming was a tribute to Olunloyo’s legacy and contributions to education and governance in the state.
