The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Lagos State local government elections, winning all 57 chairmanship seats and 375 out of 376 councillorship positions.
According to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), the APC dominated the elections across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured one councillorship seat in Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended Lagos residents for maintaining peace during the elections, describing it as a testament to the state’s democratic spirit.
He also praised security personnel, media professionals, and LASIEC officials for ensuring a safe and credible process.
