A high-powered presidential delegation led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and supported by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has arrived in London to oversee the repatriation of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s remains.
The team was formally received at the airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Borno Governor Babagana Zulum.
Their mission is to coordinate final arrangements for the dignified return of the late leader, who died on Sunday afternoon in a London hospital following a protracted illness.
Arrangements are underway for the return of his remains to Nigeria, where a series of official mourning rites and state honors will be conducted.
