Nigeria: Lagos Fire Service Rescues Man Trapped in 80-Foot Well

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has rescued a 56-year-old man who became trapped inside an 80-foot well in the Ikotun area of the state over the weekend.

The rescue team from the Ejigbo Station quickly mobilized and arrived at the scene, where they discovered the man stuck while working inside the well located behind a bungalow.

After several coordinated efforts, the firefighters were able to pull the man out alive. The agency suggested that the incident may have been caused by negligence during the hazardous job.

The rescued man was handed over to his family and is in stable condition.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, advised the public to notify the agency promptly when engaging in hazardous tasks to allow for proper safety measures and standby support.
