The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has not resigned, according to a reliable Presidency source.
This contradicts reports from some online publications that Ojulari was compelled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to tender his resignation. The Presidency source described the claims as “false and rubbish.”
Ojulari was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in April 2025 to carry out reforms aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and restoring investor confidence.
The controversy surrounding Ojulari’s alleged resignation stems from allegations of corruption and economic sabotage, including a $21 million scandal.
Civil society groups have called for his arrest and prosecution, while others have defended his efforts to reform the NNPC.
