Nigeria and Leicester City Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has taken to social media to mourn the loss of former Coach, Craig Shakespeare.

On Thursday, the football world was shocked by the death of English coach, Shakespeare. The 60-year-old, who had been diagnosed with cancer last year, passed away on Thursday.

Shakespeare had a distinguished career, working with numerous clubs in England, including Hull, Watford, Aston Villa, Norwich, and Everton. He most notably served as Claudio Ranieri’s assistant when Leicester City won the Premier League in the 2015/2016 season.

After Ranieri’s dismissal in January 2017, Shakespeare took over as Leicester’s head coach. During his tenure, Super Eagles star, Ndidi made a significant impact at the club. Shakespeare, a former midfielder coached Ndidi in 25 games before being dismissed in December 2017.

Following Shakespeare’s death, Ndidi expressed his grief on social media, sharing a picture of Shakespeare along with sad and heart emojis.

Ndidi is not the only Premier League footballer mourning Shakespeare’s passing. His Leicester City teammate Jamie Vardy and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish have also publicly expressed their condolences.
