The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended former Governor Gbenga Daniel and one of his loyalists, Kunle Folarin, over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension was ratified by the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) after Daniel and Folarin failed to appear before disciplinary committees to defend themselves against the allegations.
The committees had invited them to attend meetings and present evidence in their defense, but they refused to cooperate.
The suspensions are effective indefinitely, pending further investigation and the outcome of the committees’ inquiry.
This development comes amid rumors of a feud between Daniel and the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun, who recently ordered the demolition of a hotel and residence linked to the senator.
The APC’s decision demonstrates its commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding its constitution.
