The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is set to be crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Reports on Wednesday confirmed that Governor Seyi Makinde has formally approved his nomination.
It was further gathered that a state government delegation met with Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-In-Council at his Bodija residence earlier in the day to finalize arrangements.

Speaking with the media aide to the incoming monarch, Adeola Oloko, confirmed the development, noting that preparations for the coronation are in top gear.
“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025. The ceremony will take place at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan,” Oloko stated.
The confirmation follows Ladoja’s meeting with the kingmakers on Tuesday, where his nomination was ratified.
The coronation ceremony is expected to draw dignitaries from across the country as Ibadan, Nigeria’s largest city by landmass, prepares to welcome its new traditional ruler.
