A disturbing video shared widely on social media shows a Nigerian man shooting three young men at close range with an AK-47 rifle, accusing them of using his weapon to commit robberies.

The footage, first posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as Jack the Builder (@Jack_ng01), captures the man speaking in a mix of Igbo, Pidgin, and English as he confronts the youths. He accused them of taking his gun for home invasions and armed attacks.

Despite desperate pleas from the victims—one insisting he had no part in the alleged crimes—the gunman opened fire repeatedly. Two of the young men had their hands chained together, and all three were shot in the legs and head as they cried out in pain.

“This one will be a lesson to each and every one of you. You people think I am joking right?” the shooter said before pulling the trigger. At another point he declared, “From today, anybody who dares take my iron (gun) for robbery… must receive it hot, very hot.”

The killings, carried out in what appeared to be an open area behind a perimeter fence along a dirt road, were filmed by the gunman himself. At several moments, he boasted about the act, urging onlookers and viewers to “look at it, it is happening.”

The shooter’s identity, the victims’ names, and the exact location of the incident remain unverified. As of the time of reporting, SaharaReporters said it had not been able to establish where the killings occurred or confirm details with the original poster of the video.

The video has sparked outrage online, with many demanding an immediate investigation and the arrest of those involved. Security analysts have described the act as a form of vigilante justice that further underscores Nigeria’s growing law-and-order crisis, where citizens often take justice into their own hands amid failing trust in the police. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
