President Bola Tinubu has departed Brasília, Brazil, for Abuja, Nigeria, after a high-level state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The presidential jet took off from Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at approximately 12:57 p.m. local time.
Tinubu’s visit, which began on Monday, August 25, included meetings with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and senior officials, resulting in the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding in key sectors such as aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture.
During his visit, Tinubu praised the Nigerian market’s performance, attributing it to investor confidence in his administration’s reforms.
He also met with the Director-General of Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission and the Board of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, discussing ways to deepen cooperation in trade, education, and innovation.
Additionally, Tinubu urged members of the Nigerian diaspora in Brazil to contribute actively to nation-building.
The visit is seen as a strategic move to boost Nigeria-Brazil relations, with both countries exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
Tinubu’s diplomatic engagement has been marked by several high-level meetings and agreements, underscoring his administration’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships.
