NRC Commences Recovery Operations After Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has begun full recovery operations following Tuesday’s derailment of a Kaduna-bound passenger train.

The corporation’s Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, is physically leading the operation, which involves retrieving the locomotive and one of the coaches involved in the accident.

The derailment occurred on Tuesday morning, leaving several carriages overturned and triggering panic among passengers.

Opeifa expressed gratitude to security agencies deployed to the accident site for maintaining a safe and orderly recovery process.

He also acknowledged the media’s role during the incident, describing journalists as vital partners and emphasizing the importance of accurate information during such periods.
