President Bola Tinubu has announced the immediate dismissal of Fegho John Umunubo, his Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President.

According to a statement by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, Umunubo’s disengagement takes effect immediately, and he no longer represents the Tinubu administration in any capacity.

The statement warned that anyone engaging with Umunubo in the name of President Tinubu’s administration does so at their own risk.

“Stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy, at home and abroad, as well as the general public are hereby notified that Fegho John Umunubo has been disengaged with immediate effect,” the statement read.

This move comes as a surprise, given the administration’s emphasis on the importance of digital and creative economies in driving Nigeria’s growth.
