Nigeria Declares October 1 as Public Holiday for 65th Independence Anniversary

The federal government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the declaration, congratulating Nigerians at home and abroad on this historic occasion.

He urged citizens to uphold patriotic spirit, unity, and resilience that have sustained the nation since 1960 and keep faith in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
