Moroccan security forces thwarted youth-led protests for the third consecutive day, arresting dozens in cities like Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir, Tangier, and Oujda.

The protests, organized by the anonymous “GenZ 212” group via social media platforms, demanded improvements to the country’s public health and education systems.

Demonstrators denounced inadequate care, understaffed facilities, and lack of medical resources, with some briefly blocking highways and chanting slogans like “freedom, dignity, and social justice”.

The protests were sparked by poor hospital conditions in Agadir, which quickly spread nationwide.

Morocco’s unemployment rate stands at 12.8%, with youth unemployment at 35.8% and 19% among graduates.

The government hasn’t commented on the incidents and arrests.
