Renowned language and communication expert, Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale, hailing from Nigeria, has achieved a significant milestone by assuming the position of Vice Rector at Pan African University.
This distinguished institution, established by the African Union Commission and headquartered in Yaounde, Cameroon, boasts a dynamic presence across the continent, including faculties in Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, and South Africa.

Professor Akeredolu-Ale, with a wealth of experience accumulated over 32 years at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of media in Nigeria and beyond through her dedicated teaching and research endeavours.
Her academic journey, commencing at the University of Ibadan in Southwest Nigeria, extending to the University of Birmingham in the UK, and augmented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos, exemplifies a commitment to academic excellence.
Born on January 5, 1964, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria, Professor Akeredolu-Ale has left an indelible mark on her field, serving as the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at FUNAAB from January 2020 to January 2022.
Her leadership also extended to heading the Department of Communication and General Studies from 2009 to 2013.
Beyond her administrative roles, Professor Akeredolu-Ale is a devoted advocate for girl-child education and women’s empowerment, boasting an impressive portfolio of over 50 scholarly publications.
Her dedication to academia and her significant contributions to Journalism Trauma Education Research Group (JETREG) underscore her commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering intellectual growth.
