Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has directed his newly appointed commissioners and top government officials to wear the ‘Asiwaju Mandate Cap’ as a show of loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, warning that any commissioner who fails to comply will face sanctions.

The governor made this known during the swearing-in ceremony of commissioners, agency board members, and commission heads in Benin City.

Okpebholo emphasized that the appointments were not political rewards but a call to serve the people of Edo State with integrity and dedication.

He cautioned the appointees against using their positions for personal gain, stressing that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption.

The governor credited the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recent Edo governorship election to President Tinubu’s support, describing it as a turning point for the party in the state.

The governor’s directive is part of his administration’s efforts to promote loyalty and discipline among his cabinet members.

By wearing the ‘Asiwaju Mandate Cap’, the commissioners are expected to demonstrate their commitment to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the governor’s vision for the state.

Okpebholo warned that he would not forgive any commissioner who fails to wear the cap, emphasizing that loyalty to the party and its leader is non-negotiable.
