Nigerian forward Sunday Adetunji scored twice as Al Hilal of Sudan defeated Kenya Police FC 3–1 on Friday to secure their place in the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Sudanese giants, featuring in the continental competition for a record 39th time, advanced 4–1 on aggregate after winning the first leg 1–0 in Nairobi.

Adetunji, who recently joined Hilal following spells in North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Kosovo, opened the scoring in the first half before Erick Zakayo equalised for the Kenyan debutants.

The former Rivers United striker restored Hilal’s lead shortly after, while Ahmed Salem sealed the win with a late strike in stoppage time.

Due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, the match was played in Benghazi, Libya, as drone attacks continued to target the capital, Khartoum.

In another fixture, Power Dynamos of Zambia reached the group phase for the first time in five attempts, progressing 3–2 on aggregate after a 1–1 home draw with Vipers SC of Uganda in Ndola.

Kenyan forward Moses Shumah put Power ahead in the 69th minute before Abdul Karim Watambala equalised for Vipers 10 minutes from time.

The CAF Champions League group stage draw will take place in Johannesburg on November 3.
