Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has held high-level talks with the British Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, in London to deepen bilateral relations between both nations.
Tuggar said the meeting was geared towards strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom—two countries bound by historical ties, shared democratic values, and a common vision for global security and prosperity.

The discussions, held at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, focused on practical measures to boost collaboration in key areas such as trade and investment, security, education, migration, energy transition, and climate action.
Both sides reviewed progress in existing partnerships and explored new opportunities to connect innovation with tangible outcomes, including increased UK investment in Nigeria’s technology and creative sectors, as well as joint initiatives promoting renewable energy and regional stability.
