Arsenal has announced it will end its eight-year sponsorship deal with Visit Rwanda at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

The partnership, worth over £10m ($13.3m) per year, has been under scrutiny due to increased violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which borders Rwanda.

The club stated that the decision was made mutually, citing that the partnership had “exceeded the original goals” of promoting conservation and sustainable tourism.

Arsenal’s CEO, Richard Garlick, said the partnership had played a crucial role in supporting the club’s long-term vision.

The move follows protests by campaign group Gunners for Peace, who urged Arsenal to drop the sponsorship, citing human rights concerns. Visit Rwanda has also partnered with other top clubs, including Paris St-Germain and Atletico Madrid.
