The Court of Appeal in Abuja has struck out the appeal filed by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), against the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), citing lack of merit.
The decision follows Kanu’s conviction and life imprisonment sentence by a Federal High Court on November 20, rendering his claims of rights violations academic.
The appellate court held that Kanu’s prayers, including transfer from DSS custody to Kuje prison, were no longer valid after his conviction and remand in prison custody.
