A Libyan war crimes suspect, Khaled Mohamed Ali Al Hishri, has been transferred from Germany to The Hague and taken into custody by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Al Hishri is accused of being a senior official at a notorious prison in Libya where inmates were allegedly tortured and sexually abused.
He is facing charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including murder, torture, rape, and sexual violence, committed between 2015 and 2020.
A trial is not expected until late 2026.
