The All Progressives Congress (APC) is holding its governorship primary in Osun State, with 1,660 delegates expected to elect the party’s candidate for the 2026 election.
The event is taking place at Ebunoluwa Hall, Osogbo, under tight security provided by the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Department of State Services (DSS).
The APC Primary Committee, led by Governor Monday Okpebolo of Edo State, has concluded the accreditation of delegates, and the affirmation method will be used to select the party’s candidate.
Delegates are seated according to their respective local government areas, and prominent party chieftains are arriving at the venue.
Seven aspirants, including former National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore, were disqualified from contesting the primary, while two aspirants, Bola Oyebamiji and Mulikat Abiola, have been cleared to participate.
