President of Dangote Group, Dr. Aliko Dangote, has given Kaduna-based businessman Kailani Mohammed a seven-day ultimatum to retract a libellous statement made against him and his business, warning of a potential N100 billion lawsuit if he fails to comply.
In a letter sent to Mohammed, Dangote demanded an immediate public retraction, explanation, and unreserved apology for claims that he engaged in unethical business practices in the 1980s in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The letter, served through Dangote’s lawyer, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Dr. Ogwu James Onoja of Onoja Law Firm, Abuja, accused Mohammed of defaming Dangote and tarnishing his reputation and business dealings.
According to the letter, the allegations were made by Mohammed during an interview broadcast on TrustTV on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in response to his petition against Dr. Farouk Ahmed submitted to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Titled “Demand for public explanation, retraction and unreserved public apology on your libellous publication against Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON,” the letter underscores Dangote’s position that the accusations are baseless and damaging.
Dangote’s legal team has made it clear that failure to comply within the seven-day window will result in the immediate initiation of legal proceedings seeking N100 billion in damages.
